Hi, I'd like to discuss support for an upcoming event. Help needed: Not decided Event type: Not decided Event area: Not decided Date: Not decided Approx. attendees: Not decided Reference: EV-1101 / en Page: https://eventconsultant.com.my/areas/malaysia/
The short answer
We plan and manage professional events across Malaysia. Planning and project management can be done remotely for any location. We can also arrange on-site support and travel anywhere in Malaysia when your event needs it, as agreed in the scope. Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Seremban (including Nilai) are where we work most.
Travel and accommodation are charged when they are part of the agreed scope. Settle that early, so the plan and the budget match.
How support works across Malaysia
Planning can happen remotely wherever your event is. On-site support is arranged when the event needs it.
| Kind of support | Where | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Planning support | All of Malaysia | Briefs, timelines, supplier requirements, decisions and progress checks, done remotely. |
| Event-day travel | Anywhere in Malaysia, as agreed | We travel for event day when it is needed. The days, hours and duties are written into the agreed scope. |
| On-site support | Anywhere in Malaysia when needed; most often Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Seremban (including Nilai) | Site visits and on-site arrangements as the brief needs them. |

What stays with local people
Whether we work remotely or on site, the venue team, local suppliers and the host authority stay responsible for their own work. Where the scope needs specialists such as AV, staging or registration, we coordinate them for you.
The split is easier to manage when it is written down. See what a remote project lead covers and what stays local.
Find your state
Each state page covers dates, access and the questions to check for that place.
For Malaysian rules, funding and venues, see event permits and approvals, MyCEB support and major convention venues compared.
Three steps before you ask for help
- Write down your host city, dates and the number of event days.
- Decide whether our travel and accommodation are part of the scope. Use the event-day travel scope planner if you are unsure.
- Read what to send first when you enquire from outside Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Seremban. If the host city is still open, start with choosing a host city.
Worked example · Fictional example
A fictional association checks what support applies
Fictional organisation and figures, for illustration only.
Persatuan Fiktif Perunding Logistik plans a two-day forum for about 150 members in a state capital far from Kuala Lumpur. The secretariat has two people and no time to chase suppliers.
The secretary sorts the work into two lists. Planning, supplier briefs and the programme timeline go on the remote list. Opening-morning duties go on the event-day list, with the hours and the person who can approve changes written beside each one.

Coverage check for your event
Copy this into a document and fill in each line. Anything undecided stays marked undecided.
- Host city and state:
- Event dates and number of event days:
- Is the host city in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor or Seremban (including Nilai), where we work most? Yes or no:
- Work that can be done remotely (briefs, timeline, supplier requirements, decisions, progress checks):
- Work that needs someone present on event day:
- Work that stays with the venue, local suppliers or the host authority:
- Are our travel and accommodation part of the scope? Yes, no or undecided:
- Named local contact for the days before the event (or open):
- Who approves changes on event day:
Handle it in-house, or bring in help?
Your team can usually handle this when
- Your own team is based near the host city and can visit the venue.
- The venue provides an event coordinator and the programme is simple.
- You only need a brief and a timeline, which you can write from the templates.
Outside planning help earns its fee when
- Your team is in another state and cannot visit the venue before the event.
- Several local suppliers need to be briefed and kept to one plan.
- Nobody on the committee has the time to lead the event on the day.
Want us to help with this?
We can plan and manage your event, or lead the planning remotely and coordinate your suppliers. We can travel or arrange on-site support where the scope needs it. Send your host city, dates and what is still open, and we will reply with the level of support that fits and what it would cover.
Questions organisers ask
Can a project lead support an event in Sabah or Sarawak?
Yes. Planning support covers all of Malaysia, and we can travel or arrange on-site support when the scope needs it. See the Sabah and Sarawak pages for the questions to check.
Is there a local office near my host city?
No. We work most in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Seremban, plan remotely, and arrange on-site support and travel as agreed in your scope.
Who pays for travel and accommodation?
They are charged when they are part of the agreed scope. Decide early whether they are in scope, and write it down.
Do I need a project lead for a small event?
Not always. A small, familiar event can often be run by your own team with a clear brief and timeline.
