The short answer
Compare packages by what each one includes, not by the headline figure. Put room-nights, meeting days and meals into separate lines, and ask the resort to fill every line.
Then check how your delegates will get up the hill, because access is part of what you are buying.
What to verify for a Genting Highlands package
Resorts World Genting is the operator, so most answers come from its meetings team.
- What does each package include? Ask the meetings team for each package in writing: rooms, meeting space, meals, equipment and anything charged separately.
- Which venue on the resort will hold your sessions? The operator's blog names the Genting International Convention Centre, Crockfords, the Arena of Stars and others as event spaces. Those are the operator's own descriptions, so ask the meetings team to confirm the rooms you need in the layout you need.
- How many room-nights, and how many delegate-days? Twenty rooms for two nights is 40 room-nights. Forty delegates for two meeting days is 80 delegate-days. Ask the resort to state which of the two each charge uses.
- Which minimums apply? Ask whether the package has a minimum number of rooms or delegates, and what happens to the bill if you fall below it.
- How do delegates arrive? The operator's getting-here page lists car, limousine, bus, an inter-resort shuttle, helicopter from Subang Airport, airport public transport and e-hailing. It also lists a Park and Fly option by cable car, via Awana SkyWay or Genting SkyWay. Ask which suits your group and who pays for each.
- Are there access notices for your dates? On 9 October 2026 the operator's home page carried maintenance closure notices for both cable cars. Check the home page and its travel advisory page for your dates, and ask what the resort offers delegates if a route is closed.
- What are the road and parking rules? The operator links a Genting Roads rules document. Read it before you tell delegates how to arrive, and ask the meetings team what applies to coaches and private cars.
- Which state and local authority cover the address? Tourism Pahang lists Genting Highlands under Pahang's highlands, along the Pahang-Selangor border. No page names the local authority. Ask the resort for its full address, then ask the Pahang State Secretary's Office which authority covers it.

A fictional association compares two package quotes

Persatuan Fiktif Pengurus Latihan holds a two-day residential programme for 40 delegates. Quote A is lower on the page. Quote B is higher.
When the committee puts both into the same lines, Quote A bills meals per delegate-day on top, and Quote B includes them. It also finds that Quote A has a room minimum its group does not reach. It asks both for a revised quote with the same lines before it decides.
